Club Development

Football Development Officer: Steve Hardicre - 0161 483 0549

Poynton FC is always looking for new and exciting ways to develop the Club. We are also very proud of our commitment to continue with our excellent development programme in all areas. Below is a short explanation of our developments - past, present and future.

Poynton FC's NEW Training Facility

Astro-Turf Facility at Poynton Sports Club - Rules & Regulations

The following detail should be strictly adhered to when using the “All Weather Surface”:

Footwear – Flat soled footwear should be used at all times to avoid damage to the surface. Purposely designed Astroturf Trainers may be worn but studs, ribs and cleats are strictly prohibited. To avoid bringing contamination onto the playing surface users should reserve footwear for use on this facility and should ensure that the “boot brush” (placed at the court entrance) is used to remove any residual mud, turf, shale etc, before entering the court.

Litter – A waste bin is provided outside the court area, please ensure that all debris is removed from the court after use and placed in the container i.e. drinks bottles, tie ups, plastic bags etc.

Goalposts & Cones – Please do not drag goalposts across the “All Weather Surface”. Transport the equipment by lifting and carrying using sufficient people as is deemed necessary by the weight of the equipment being transported. Do not leave cones or other training aids on the court after use.

Opening / Closing the Facility – Generally the facility will be open at the commencement of the session and the floodlights will be switched on. All evening sessions will end at 2200hrs. The floodlights will automatically switch off at 2215 hrs, giving fifteen minutes to clear the court and secure equipment. Please lock the gate when the evening session is concluded.
